The goal of the Philadelphia Climate Initiative is to harness the collective intelligence of thousands of people from around the Philadelphia region to address climate change at the local level.
Using a crowdsourcing platform inspired by the MIT Climate CoLab, citizens work with experts and each other to create, analyze, and select detailed proposals for what to do about climate change at the scale of the broader Philadelphia region. In addition to members of the general public, the community includes experts on climate change and related topics who serve as Advisors, Judges, and Fellows. A panel of Judges selects proposals. Winning teams receive grants and assistance to implement their ideas.
